1998 Trésor - Sonoma County [ $40 ]
Exceptionally intense and concentrated in flavor, the 1998 Trésor has ripe, fruit-driven flavors, good concentration with soft tannins, and perfect balance between oak and fruit. All the fruit comes from vines grown in shallow, rocky soil, adding impressive depth and intensity to its flavors. The wine is a dark glowing garnet red, with black cherry, plum, cassis and cedar aromas. Fruit flavors of black cherry and plum dominate, mingled with warm cedar, eucalyptus and the sweet toast of French oak. The finish is long and smooth.
