2001 Ferrari-Carano Syrah - Sonoma County [ $25 ]
Grapes for the 2001 Syrah come from our mountain vineyards in Alexander Valley, grown at elevations between 900 and 1,300 feet where warm days and cool nights provide the perfect climate for slow, full maturity of flavors and tannins. The Syrah grapes are dry farmed in shallow, rocky, low-vigor soil that adds impressive depth and concentration of flavor intensity. The 2001 Syrah offers a nose of spicy oak along with floral and dark berry nuances. On the palate, look for full tannins and dense berry flavors.
