2006 Villa Fiore Grenache Rosé - Alexander Valley [ $14 ]
The generous warmth of the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys create the ideal growing conditions that allowed the grapes for our 2006 Villa Fiore Grenache Rosé to develop the delicious bright red fruit flavors representative of this wine. Best enjoyed when it is young, our Grenache Rosé wine is a vibrant rose color with exceptional clarity. Aromas and flavors of crisp strawberry, raspberry and delicate spice shine through while soft and subtle tannins contribute to its structure.
Vintage Notes
The fruit for this wine comes from our vineyards in Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley. A cool, mild season without the traditional heat spikes provided some beautiful fruit and produced one of the more bountiful grape crops in the county’s history.
Winemakers Notes
The grapes for this wine were harvested in the early morning hours, gently de-stemmed at the winery and then moved directly into stainless steel tanks. Cold soaked for only a short time to capture the beautiful, vibrant rose color, the grapes were pressed and then yeast was added for cold fermentation for two weeks. The resulting wine is a refreshing, dry, bright berry fruit rosé that is perfect for summer sipping.
